Perfect Coconut Rice

Precision is key – follow to a tee.


Pantry Staples

  • 2 Cups (360g) white Rice (we use Jasmine)

  • 400ml Can of Coconut Milk

  • Dash of Coconut Cream (1-2 Tablespoon)

  • 1/2 Cup (125ml) Water

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt


  1. Rinse rice – then soak in filtered water for as long as possible – minimum 15 minutes. Start this process in the morning if you know you’ll be making this dish. Rinse super well.
  2. Add all ingredients to a medium saucepan, over medium to high heat.
  3. Bring it to a simmer so the entire surface of the liquid is rippling (not just the edges), give it ONE stir (not more!), place lid on and immediately turn heat down to LOW.
  4. Leave for 14 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat, and rest, undisturbed, for 10 minutes.
